Vinyl Safety Labeling
Safety labels are more than just paper stickers that you print on an inkjet. When you're creating safety labels for workplace hazard identification, you should be using vinyl labels that are designed to hold up indoor and outdoor and in a variety of conditions.
When looking at labeling equipment for workplace safety, make sure that you consider solutions that have:
- UV resistance (labels may be use in any workplace setting, indoor our outdoor)
- Scratch resistance (labels will still be effective if mistreated or abused)
- Chemical resistance (labels will stand up to the materials that they are exposed to)
- Permanent adhesive (labels are designed to not be removable, to avoid liabilities)
- OSHA approved colors (label materials are available in OSHA recommended color schemes)
Workplace Chemical Labeling
A more specific workplace safety labeling task involves labeling chemicals for safety. In the case of chemical labeling (such as RTK or NFPA), the quality of the label becomes very important. Use labels that are made from materials that will hold up in situations where chemicals may spill onto the label, or where the chemical container may be treated roughly.
